The California Adult School Online Database

Basic data - address, phone, fax, web address, names of key personnel, etc. - for all California adult schools is maintained in an online directory at this website. Each school is responsible for updating its own information online. You can do so by entering your school's unique access codes and then making the necessary changes.

This information is available via our directory search engine to any visitor to this site.

In addition to the online database, CSCAE also publishes the annual California Directory of Adult Schools, Personnel & Programs. Each year in early October, the online information is downloaded and used to create the printed directory. This 52-page document is sent free to all California adult schools. Sponsored by Boston Reed, it has become the "white pages" of adult education in this state.

The next edition of the directory will be publis hed in October of 2005 and about a month prior to that all schools will be reminded by both regular mail and email of the data entry deadline. Changes must be made prior to that date in order for them to be included in the next directory. In any event, since the database is accessible to anyone at any time, we advise all schools to keep their information current at this website. A copy of the current directory is available in PDF.

The codes that allow each school to change its data online are distributed by regular mail each year in September. However, authorized personnel who do not know their school's login ID and password can obtain the codes by sending an email request to bob@gemut.com.

How to Update Your School's Data

  • Click here and enter agency ID and password (if not known, email Bob Bestor at bob@gemut.com). Once logged on, you can change these codes at your school's data page on the website.

  • At this point the process is fairly self-explanatory. The first screen you see contains your agency's current information. Here you can make necessary changes. When you are finished, make sure to click on "Save My Changes Now".

  • To update information on Agency Staff, click on a name in the lower box on the Agency page. This will take you to a page containing information on the person selected. To make changes to agency personnel, follow the same process as described in the previous paragraph. If you wish to add a new name, you can either replace an existing name or, from the Agency page, click on the "Add a new contact" link.

  • If you have questions or difficulties, email Bob Bestor at bob@gemut.com.
